Report: Premier League giants line-up £50m move for Everton star

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has enjoyed life since Carlo Ancelotti took over at Everton, scoring three goals in his last two games.

That makes eight in total at the halfway point of the season – his highest haul of any season in his career already.

However, his form has made him a player of interest for Man United, after they missed out on young hotshot Erling Haaland.

Haaland has moved to Borussia Dortmund, leaving Man United frustrated and looking for other striker targets.

According to the Sun, Calvert-Lewin is their back-up plan and the report claims he has now become United’s number one target.

They claim he would cost around £50m and that he has been on Solskjaer’s radar for months.

However, this one looks highly unlikely. Carlo Ancelotti was a fan of Calvert-Lewin while he was at Napoli, and the youngster’s form will have convinced him he’s a big part of Everton’s future.

Everton are very unlikely to sell a player from underneath Ancelotti and he won’t want to lose him.

Man United are no longer the mega draw they used to be, either. We think this one can be buried.
