Kean to start, Sigurdsson set for a rest: Predicted Everton starting XI v Liverpool
New Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti suffered his first defeat in charge of the club against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Despite the 2-1 scoreline, it wasn’t a particularly close contest. The Toffees failed to turn up for the most part, and Richarlison’s consolation didn’t change that fact.
Now, after taking on one of English football’s heavyweights, Ancelotti’s men must turn their attention to another, one slightly closer to home.
Everton will face their cross-city rivals Liverpool in FA Cup action on Sunday, and the manager may well make a few changes.
Indeed, we expect him to make five changes in all, with one of them likely to be back-up goalkeeper Marten Stekelenburg replacing number one Jordan Pickford.
In defence, Ancelotti may well swap one of his three, with Michael Keane potentially coming back in for Yerry Mina.
Toffees stalwart Leighton Baines will surely take Lucas Digne’s place on the left, while Alex Iwobi may come in for Gylfi Sigurdsson in midfield after both players endured shockers against City.
And up front, Moise Kean can expect to come in alongside Richarlison after impressing off the bench in recent weeks.
This is the starting XI we expect to see Ancelotti put out at Anfield…
In other Everton news, Ancelotti is said to have asked the club brass to sign a former Liverpool centre back.
