‘Useless’ – These Everton fans destroy one player v Liverpool

Although Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival as the new Everton manager has seen an upturn in form for some players, the same cannot be said for everyone.

The centre of midfield, in particular, continues to look vulnerable, and that continued in the Toffees’ 1-0 defeat to rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Morgan Schneiderlin were deployed in the middle of the park at Anfield, and both men came in for severe criticism from the Everton faithful.

Schneiderlin, in particular, came under fire for what was another lacklustre effort. The Frenchman has never hit his former heights in a blue shirt, a trend which was not reversed on Sunday.

He appeared unable to impose himself on the game, despite facing off with what was essentially Liverpool’s reserves. He was up against kids – and Adam Lallana – in midfield, yet he struggled to get anything going.

The fans called him ‘useless’ and ‘shocking’ and several suggested he needed to be substituted during the game.
