Report: Everton offered former Tottenham midfielder
Everton are yet to really kick into top gear in the January transfer market, which is perhaps a surprise after Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival.
The Italian’s presence at the club was expected to attract a higher calibre of player to Goodison Park, but that has yet to materialise.
That doesn’t mean it won’t, of course, but the Toffees have yet to bring any new stars to Merseyside this month.
However, they have been offered the chance to sign someone. Indeed, The Times reported on Wednesday that Schalke midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has been thrown Everton’s way.
Aston Villa have also been offered the former Tottenham Hotspur man, who hasn’t been involved for the German club for the past year due to unprofessional behaviour.
The 25-year-old is available and is said to be keen on a move back to England.

Well, Bentaleb is a decent player. He showed that at Spurs and initially at Schalke as well. However, someone with character issues should be off limits for the Toffees at the moment.
The club has enough issues with the group of players they have already, they don’t need to add somebody else who might flip his lid.
Central midfield is somewhere the Blues need to strengthen, but there must be a quality player out there at the position who doesn’t have these sorts of red flags.
In other Everton news, two young Toffees stars could be on their way out of the club on loan this month.
