Simon Jordan condemns Everton fans
We all know that talkSPORT hire some controversial pundits and commentators, and on this occasion it’s resulted in an attack on the Everton fans.
The station’s chief bear-poker may well be former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan and, yes, he’s been at it again.
This time, Jordan was targeting the Everton supporters after The Times reported earlier this week that a group of Toffees fans turned up at Finch Farm to confront the players.
This came after the team’s woeful defeat to Liverpool last weekend. However, director of football Marcel Brands was able to talk to them and ward them off.
Now, Jordan has condemned the supporters’ behaviour: “No, I wouldn’t have been very amused by it, and I would’ve been out front and centre saying to these fans ‘hold on a second, I’ve got this. I’m not sitting on my hands not recognising the same things as you,'” he said on talkSPORT.
“‘I’m £500million deep in this football club – I haven’t come here to be unsuccessful. I’ve made a few mistakes and I’ve got things wrong, but I’ve just recruited one of the world’s best football managers’.
“You just can’t have fans turning up at the training ground wanting to have an audience with the players. It’s not appropriate, it’s not necessary – that’s nonsense.
“You just can’t rock up and start with public disorder.”

First of all, Jordan seems to have got the impression that it was Everton owner Farhad Moshiri who came out to confront the fans. It wasn’t, it was Brands.
Having said that, he’s right that causing public disorder is unacceptable. But that’s not really what the supporters did. They were angry and they wanted to confront the players, but after being allowed to give Brands their views they went home.
They will have known that they weren’t actually going to get their audience with the players, but they wanted to do something to get their disappointment across. What’s so wrong about that?
