‘Some player’ – These Everton fans blown away by one player v Brighton
Now this was much more like it. Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti wanted a reaction from his players and he got it on Saturday.
The Toffees’ 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion and their energetic, exciting performance was exactly what the supporters needed to see after last week’s Merseyside derby disappointment.
The scorer of that goal, of course, was mercurial forward Richarlison, who looked back to his best in this one.
He took his strike superbly, twisting and turning in the Seagulls box before firing a fine shot past Mathew Ryan.
His link-up play with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Bernard was particularly encouraging, and the Blues supporters were clearly enthused by what they saw.
