‘Unreal’ – These Everton fans rave over one player v Brighton
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti didn’t quite make as many changes (three) as most of us were expecting after last weekend’s Merseyside derby defeat.
However, the team that he put out against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday certainly seemed to be up for the contest.
Indeed, the Toffees performed rather well in their 1-0 win over the Seagulls at Goodison Park.
One of the alterations Ancelotti made was to bring playmaker Bernard back into the starting line-up, and his introduction paid huge dividends.
The Brazilian international looked lively from start to finish against Graham Potter’s side, enjoying a terrific first half, in particular.
Maybe the former Shakhtar Donetsk man wouldn’t have won the game last weekend on his own, but on this evidence he would have made a fine bit of difference to the Toffees.
The club’s supporters were extremely impressed by what he offered up on Saturday, with one of them labelling him ‘unreal’.
