Report – Ancelotti plots stunning treble swoop to overhaul Everton squad
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is lining up a trio of bids for James Rodriguez, Yannick Carrasco, and Adrien Rabiot, according to Sky Sports News.
The Italian is said to be looking to overhaul the squad he took over in December, and has identified the three players as potential arrivals who could help him do just that.
It is understood that Ancelotti would look to bring in Rodriguez on loan, while any move for Carrasco or Rabiot could be permanent.
Rodriguez is currently on the books at Real Madrid, but has only played seven league matches this term, while Rabiot is at Italian behemoths Juventus.
For his part, Carrasco is playing his trade in China with Dalian Yifang.
Are these deals likely to happen?
If you’d asked a few weeks ago, you’d probably have been given a resounding “no” in response.
But Everton look like a different beast entirely with Ancelotti at the helm.
Have performances improved drastically since he came in? Probably not.
But does he immediately give the impression of a much more dangerous side by simply being there himself? Yes, absolutely.
Ancelotti is a manager who players can buy into, and so this kind of treble deal can’t be ruled out.
Of the three, you’d probably be most tempted to believe that Rodriguez could sign.
He’s in and out of the side at Real Madrid, and he has been sent out on loan before.
Of the the trio, Rabiot feels the least likely.
The Frenchman played a full 90 minutes in each of Juve’s last four Serie A matches, and having only joined in the summer, it’s hard to see him leaving again.
In other news, Robinson claims Everton man must be ‘worried’ about his future.
