Report: Everton striker rejects Goodison exit

Everton have brought in a series of below-par strikers in recent years, but one of the most enduringly anonymous has to be Oumar Niasse.

Yep, he’s still here. The 29-year-old remains a Toffees player for the time being, despite the efforts of the club’s board.

Indeed, Football Insider reported on Friday that the Blues’ director of football Marcel Brands had agreed loan deals with two Championship clubs for the attacker this month.

The Senegal international, though, rejected them both because he doesn’t want to drop down to the second tier.

New manager Carlo Ancelotti has made Niasse subject to requirements on Merseyside, and so he is free to leave.

However, Brands will now need to find some alternative exit strategy, having been foiled in his latest attempts.

Is there any way to get rid of Niasse?

Well, the good thing for Everton is that the striker’s contract is up in the summer, meaning there’s just a few more months of him left.

He’s made only three appearances this campaign, with just one of them coming in the Premier League.

You would’ve thought, then, that he’d want to secure any move he can to get regular football. Championship football, though, is apparently beneath him.

In other Everton news, Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has claimed that the club’s supporters were cruel to a former manager.
