‘Pointless’ – These Everton fans tear into one player v West Ham
Midfielder Fabian Delph’s transfer from Manchester City to Everton last summer was hailed as an excellent bit of business by the Toffees.
He brings plenty of experience and a crucial winning mentality from his time with the champions.
However, whatever positive influence he was expected to have has largely failed to materialise. He’s simply not been at it in Everton blue.
That appeared to continue in Saturday’s clash with West Ham United, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.
The England international ran around and made a few tackles, but for the most part he lost the middle battle – alongside Tom Davies – to Mark Noble and Declan Rice.
His use of the ball was sporadic, while he was beaten too many times in the middle of the park.
One Everton fan described him as ‘pointless’, which petty much summed up the value of his performance on Saturday.
