Report: Everton make enquiry for Moroccan winger

For the majority of Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw between Everton and Newcastle United, Carlo Ancelotti’s side were looking very good indeed.

They finally seemed to be clicking at the sharp end of the pitch, with Moise Kean and Dominic Calvert-Lewin both on the scoresheet.

It all fell apart in stoppage time, of course, but this was an encouraging step forward in terms of the team’s attacking performance.

However, it seems that the Toffees are still looking to improve their options in the final third.

Inside Futbol reported on Tuesday night that the Merseyside outfit have made an enquiry for AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi.

West Ham United have done the same thing, as per the report, for the Moroccan winger with 13 goals and eight assists this season.

Italian heavyweights Roma are also thought to be in the hunt, with the Eredivisie club valuing the 23-year-old at between £17-20million.

Is Idrissi the answer for Everton?

He’s certainly a young player with a lot of promise, although signing players from the Dutch top flight is a notoriously risky business.

But with Theo Walcott continuing to underwhelm and Alex Iwobi still on the sidelines, Ancelotti needs another quality winger to play opposite Bernard.

Idrissi could well be that man, but we simply can’t be sure. Everything so far suggests he’s worth taking a chance on, though.
