Report: Transfer meeting boosts Everton’s chance of signing Brazilian attacker
Perhaps transfer business at Everton Football Club will kick into gear in the final week of the window, but things have been fairly slow so far.
That’s somewhat surprising given the struggles the team have had this campaign, but hope remains of a big signing at some point this month.
One name that has been on the lips of those on the blue half of Merseyside is Gremio playmaker Everton Soares, who would appear to be a perfect fit for the Toffees…
And now Brazilian outlet UOL has reported that a transfer meeting held by the big-wigs at Goodison Park last week has increased the club’s chances of signing the 23-year-old.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking at ways to do a deal for the Brazil international, and are considering make a proposal to Gremio.
Is Everton what Everton need?
He’s certainly got immense ability and would be a big upgrade on somebody like Theo Walcott in the attacking midfield positions for the Blues.
He is a quality player who has emerged as a key man for Brazil in recent years, despite their embarrassment of riches in the final third.
Whether they can pull off a deal of this magnitude in the waning days of the transfer window remains to be seen, because January is notoriously difficult for getting deals done. However, if they can, Everton would be a great signing.
In other Everton news, Ancelotti is reportedly ready to bring a player he knows extremely well to Goodison Park.
