Report: Everton target’s reps fly to England for crunch talks
One of the names that has been most intensely linked with Everton this January transfer window has been Gremio playmaker Everton Soares.
The Brazil international, who would appear to be a perfect fit at Goodison Park, has been touted with a Toffees switch throughout the month.
New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti would surely like some attacking reinforcements, with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott underperforming once again this season.
And it appears that he could be close to sealing a deal for the 23-year-old in the final week of the window.
Brazilian outlet Gauchazh Pedro Ernesto reported on Thursday that the player’s representatives have flown to England for crunch talks with the Toffees.
The report claims that a deal is very close to happening, which is hugely encouraging reading for fans of the Merseyside outfit.
Could an Everton deal be in the offing?
If you believe this report then yes.
Indeed, if his representatives are really flying over here then that suggests that real progress has been made between the two clubs.
Everton would certainly be a fantastic signing for Ancelotti, allowing him to field him alongside the likes of Bernard, Richarlison, Moise Kean and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in what would suddenly look like a much-improved attack.
In other Everton news, a former England international has been raving about the resilience of one Toffees star.
