talkSPORT duo rip into transfer report on Everton star
One of the most unexpected stories of the January transfer window emerged on Wednesday evening, and it centred around Everton!
Sky Sports News reported that the Toffees had rejected a colossal bid of £85million from Spanish champions Barcelona for star forward Richarlison.
It’s a story that surprised everyone in the footballing world, but Carlo Ancelotti is seemingly adamant that he won’t be weakening his squad during this window.
talkSPORT stalwarts Alan Brazil and Tony Cascarino, though, feel that Everton were mad to turn down an offer of that magnitude.
“No chance, not having it,” declared Brazil on talkSPORT after reading about the story, and Cascarino duly chimed in as well.
“I don’t see anyone going even close to £85million, and Everton are not turning it down! He’s a good player, a very good player, but I don’t see that – just don’t see it.”
Are they right about this one?
What they’re basically saying is that they don’t think Barcelona have actually bid this amount of money for Richarlison, and that if they had that they don’t believe Everton would’ve rejected it.
That’s probably what most people are thinking about this story, to be honest. You can hardly blame them for that.
Either way, though, all the Toffees fans will care about will be keeping hold of their best player.
