Report reveals what Everton want in next shirt sponsor

Everton announced earlier this week that they will end their shirt sponsorship deal with betting firm SportPesa at the end of the season.

The Toffees have been conducting an overview of their commercial interests, and clearly made the decision to move on.

That leaves a vacancy on the Toffees’ shirts for the next campaign, and they will likely be inundated with offers.

Obviously the club have their own ideas about what they want with their new shirt deal, though.

The Liverpool Echo shed some light on that exact issue on Wednesday, claiming that the club have already received interest.

The Toffees are currently one of the 10 Premier League teams who have betting firms on their shirt.

However, it’s thought that the Blues will move away from that sector with their next sponsor.

It’s said that Everton currently have the eighth highest income from shirt revenue in the top flight, but that they expect to move up that list with their next deal.

Will a new shirt sponsor be a big boost for Everton?

It could be, potentially. Everton under Carlo Ancelotti are suddenly a much bigger deal than they were under Marco Silva, that’s just a fact.

So they can command a bit more money, and they should certainly be higher than eighth on the Premier League shirt sponsorship rankings.

The fact that the club are looking to move away from betting firms as their sponsor is certainly a good thing.

There are so many companies out there that it doesn’t make sense for them to opt for a betting firm, particularly with the addiction problems present on Merseyside and elsewhere.
