Report: Ancelotti could ‘convince’ Serie A star to join Everton

Ever since Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as Everton manager the club have been incessantly linked with Serie A stars.

That was always inevitable given that he is Italian and his last post prior to joining the Toffees was with Napoli.

Still, there have been so many transfer stories from the peninsula that we are now taking them with rather more than a mere pinch of salt.

Having said that, Hirving Lozano is a name that simply doesn’t seem to be going away.

The Mexico international joined the Serie A giants last summer, but has failed to make much of an impact in Naples.

Now, Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web has reported that Ancelotti could ‘convince’ Lozano to join the Merseysiders come the end of the season.

It’s thought that the Toffees would opt to sign the 24-year-old permanently, rather than any sort of loan deal.

The former PSV Eindhoven man has only scored three times for Napoli, while he’s managed just eight league starts this campaign.

Would Lozano be good for Everton?

He’s certainly a very good player, it’s just simply not happened for him at the Stadio San Paolo.

Sometimes things just don’t work out, but that can happen for any number of reasons. Lozano’s not been able to make the grade in Naples, but he could do at Goodison Park.

He’s the sort of player who would flourish playing in behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Richarlison.

Ancelotti obviously knows him well, so if he feels that he’d be a good addition then he probably would be.

In other Everton news, a Toffees midfielder has been speaking about a rival Premier League manager.
