‘Woeful’ – These Everton fans rip into one player v Arsenal
Alex Iwobi’s time at Everton simply hasn’t gotten going, partially because of injuries and partially due to poor form.
However, he was given an opportunity from the start in the Toffees’ 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
It was something of a surprise to see his name on the team-sheet rather than Bernard’s, but that’s what manager Carlo Ancelotti went for.
However, the Nigerian absolutely failed to provide anything even resembling a spark against his old team.
You would’ve thought that he would’ve been motivated to go out there and prove the Gunners wrong.
They sold him for big money last summer, but so far that’s looking like a transfer fee rather misplaced by the Blues.
He was partly at fault for Eddie Nketiah’s strike, as he gave the ball away. His defensive work rate certainly wasn’t good enough.
The 23-year-old has all the ability in the world, but in a game against his former employers he simply didn’t show it.
The club’s supporters certainly didn’t like what they saw from the former Gunner, with one of them labelling him ‘woeful’.
