Reliable pundit: Everton launch scouting mission for 25 goal sensation

Everton had scouts in Scotland on Sunday to watch Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to former Hoops striker Packie Bonner.

The Frenchman was on target for the 25th time this season as the Bhoys came from behind to beat Kilmarnock at Parkhead, and it is understood that the Toffees had representatives in the stands to keep tabs on him.

And the news was confirmed by Bonner, who claimed to have a conversation with the scouts about the 22-year-old.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, as per the Daily Record, he said: “Celtic will probably have to sell one or two players in the summer.

“Edouard looks like he could be one. I was talking to one of the scouts from Everton who was here today.

“He’s talking so highly of guys like [Callum] McGregor and Edouard, and they are attracting the attention of big clubs.”

Would Edouard be a good signing?

You’d be amazed if he wasn’t.

The Frenchman has 25 in 41 appearances for Celtic this season, and he looks every inch a Premier League striker in the making.

Edouard has a goal every 133 minutes for the Bhoys this term, or to put it another way, one every game and a half of football.

That’s a seriously impressive record, and it only becomes more eye-catching when you learn that he is averaging 3.6 aerial duels won, 5.93 successful dribbles, and 3.42 shots on goal per game, as per Wyscout.

To put it simply, Everton should snap him up before somebody else does.
