Owen names three Everton players he’s enjoyed watching recently

Things at Everton seem to be picking up a bit lately, with new manager Carlo Ancelotti having had an instantly transformative effect at the club.

The Italian has lived up to his world class reputation thus far, although there remains a long way to go.

His impact on the players at the club has been massive, which is always a sign of a good manager.

The improvement made by several Toffees stars directly correlates to Ancelotti’s appointment, there’s no doubt about that.

Everton

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen is clearly of a similar opinion.

“Everton had the opportunities to get at least a point at the Emirates on Sunday and the burgeoning partnership of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and remarkable return of Andre Gomes were plus points for the Blues who have improved significantly under Carlo Ancelotti,” he wrote on the BetVictor website.

“Goodison Park is never an easy place to go to and get a result, and I expect the hosts to keep the points from what promises to be a terrific game [v Manchester United on Sunday].”

Will Everton win against United?

It could be difficult, because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have really picked things up of late. They’re coming off a 5-0 thumping of Club Brugge on Thursday night.

For all that Ancelotti’s arrival at Goodison Park has changed things for the Blues, the same can be said of Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford.

The January signing has had a revelatory impact in Manchester, instantly improving a struggling United team.

So this will likely be an evenly-contested match-up on Sunday, but there’s no reason why Everton can’t win.

In other Everton news, the club have reportedly been offered the chance to sign a Bundesliga stalwart.
