Sky Sports share positive update with Everton duo available for Liverpool clash
The return to training has appeared to bring more bad luck to Everton than good.
It has already been confirmed that a number of Toffees’ players have picked up injuries, with Yerry Mina, Jean-Phillipe Gbamin and Theo Walcott all missing the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
On top of that, both Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph are doubtful as they are continually being monitored after picking up knocks.
Sky Sports has delivered a rundown on the injury status of each club, and they have finally shared some positive news for fans at Goodison Park.
Bernard was one player who was withdrawn early in the clash against Chelsea before the break, but he will be back available for this Sunday’s huge return to action.
As well as the Brazilian, the experienced Sheamus Coleman will also be available for selection to add much-needed experience for Carlo Ancelotti.
Having both Delph and Gomes also available would be amazing for the Toffees, who are struggling for numbers in the heart of midfield.
Having Bernard back fit is certainly a big boost, the South American has shined since Ancelotti came through the door at Goodison.
The winger has the ability to roam around the pitch and create something from nothing, a trait which could come in handy when counter-attacking Liverpool on Sunday.
Here is his goal against West Ham from earlier in the season, despite starting out wide, he is pictured here in the centre-circle.
After a cracking run from Theo Walcott, Bernard darts through the heart of the Hammers defence and strikes home to give his side the lead.
There are only five seconds between Bernard being in the middle of the park and him being clean through on goal scoring – something which Everton must exploit again when they come up against Jurgen Klopp’s men on Sunday.
