David Unsworth left shocked by one Everton star after enforced lockdown

David Unsworth has been left shocked by the development of Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin over the lockdown period.

The Toffees coach couldn’t believe his eyes when noticing the physical improvement of the young striker, saying that defenders will not want to face him once the Premier League returns.

Who better to test that against than Liverpool on Sunday? Calvert-Lewin will be tasked with roughing up Virgil Van Dijk, the Dutchman being known for his physicality.

Unsworth revealed his shock in a recent interview after seeing all of the improvements Calvert-Lewin had made.

“I walked past Dominic Calvert-Lewin the other day and I was like, oh my god!” he told the Times.

“He has grown and bulked up. God help centre-halves in the Premier League when the games kick-off again.”

With nine games left to play, Carlo Ancelotti will be wanting to win as many games as possible to take it into next season for a push for European football.

Calvert-Lewin has had one of his best season’s yet at Goodison Park, mainly after being given more responsibility leading the line.

The 23-year-old has scored 13 goals in the Premier League, and alongside Richarlison, they make a great partnership in the final third.

The Toffees’ hitman has averaged 32.58 duels per game this season, only winning 36.4% of those according to WyScout, and with this improvement, we could see that percentage gradually rise between now and the end of the campaign.
