‘Found his level’ – Paolo Di Canio slams senior Everton figure after latest spell

Paolo Di Canio has slammed Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti and has claimed that he has found his level at Goodison Park this season.

The former West Ham icon insisted that Ancelotti has only ever won things in his career at clubs that are so big, that whoever is in charge doesn’t matter.

Ancelotti has certainly made a positive impact in Merseyside though, and many Toffees fans will argue against the Premier League legend.

Di Canio slammed Ancelotti for his spell at Napoli before the Everton job came along, claiming that he failed to implement his mechanisms.

“He has found his level,” he told Il Mattino, as quoted by Forza Italian Football.

“He is among the best in the management of great champions who play at big clubs. He has won where they win regardless of who the coach is; at Real Madrid where many have won, at Paris Saint-Germain, and at Bayern Munich.

“Instead at Napoli, it did not go like this. In the first year, he took advantage of the mechanisms Maurizio Sarri had left him, he had to put his own ones in during the second, and the results are there to see, with a limited budget.”

Napoli were sitting in seventh in the Serie A when Ancelotti was relieved of his duties at the end of last year. The Italian giants hadn’t won in seven, but despite him ending that run in a 4-0 win over Genk, he was sacked.

Looking at his start to life at Goodison Park, Everton fans will be happy to ignore Di Canio after his latest comments on their manager.

Without significant backing by the board, the former Chelsea and Paris-Saint Germain man has turned around their fortunes and is now expected to earn backing from the board in the summer for his first full campaign in the Premier League in Merseyside.

Should Ancelotti bring back European football to Goodison Park, there will be no complaints about his ability, regardless of outside comments.
