‘Crazy’ – Jonjoe Kenny discusses Everton future despite no contact with club

Jonjoe Kenny has held no conversations with Everton over his future as the end of the Bundesliga season draws ever closer.

The Toffees loanee has been on loan at Schalke this season, making a real impact after cementing his spot in the side under David Wagner.

Kenny insisted that he hasn’t discussed his future with Carlo Ancelotti yet though, as the Premier League season kickstarts the final batch of fixtures.

Kenny understands the silence from his parent club though, especially with the crazy situation around the globe right now with COVID-19.

“Nothing’s been said,” he admitted to 90min.

“I know what Everton are going through because it happened here at Schalke, it’s crazy, the rules and regulations with the coronavirus situation.

“They’ve got enough on their plate right now, they’ve just got to finish their season and we’ll see from there. But no, nothing’s really come from Everton yet.”

Kenny will no doubt want guarantees on his return to Goodison Park after getting a taste for regular football in Germany.

It isn’t as simple as that though, and a lot will depend on the plans of Ancelotti who has both Seamus Coleman and Djibril Sidibe to choose from at right-back.

One of those players will most likely have to leave should Kenny earn a spot in the squad next season, so we could see a battle between him and Sidibe during pre-season, with Coleman a certainty to stay at the club.
