
Injured Everton ace returns to full fitness, Toffees defender expects rotation in PL
Everton defender Michael Keane has confirmed that Yerry Mina has returned to full fitness in Merseyside after his recent injury.
The Colombian has yet to feature since the Premier League restart with Keane and Mason Holgate taking the two defensive spots.
That Everton duo have both impressed, with Keane even scoring the winner against Norwich in their latest three points at Carrow Road.
Keane has confirmed that he expects Carlo Ancelotti to make changes in defence, with Mina potentially replacing the former Manchester United man.
“Yerry is back from injury, too, and he has done really well when he’s played this season,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“Competition is what you want in every position. It brings the best out of people.
“The manager has rotated quite a bit so we’re all getting our fair share of games. I’m sure Yerry will get his chance again when he’s fit and I’m sure he’ll be ready.”
Holgate has been used in holding midfield this season at times, and it could be a case of the youngster moving forward in order to accommodate the return of Mina.
The only category that Mina is beaten in blocks, with Keane and Holgate averaging more according to WhoScored this season.
The Colombian does, however, average more tackles, clearances and interceptions that atleast one of his teammates, and he will be expected to come straight back in sooner rather than later.
