‘No doubt’ – Ancelotti showers Everton youngster in praise after glimpses of ‘Quality’

Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Everton youngster Anthony Gordon after the winger broke into his plans after the enforced break.

The 19-year-old made his debut in the Europa League back in 2017 and had to wait two years for his first Premier League against Liverpool.

Gordon impressed in the Merseyside derby and was handed yet another start against Leicester City in the victory last time out.

Ancelotti wasn’t shy to praise the young winger in his recent press conference, claiming he is ready to start every game for the club.

“He is doing really well and is ready to play for Everton, no doubt,” Ancelotti told evertonfc.com.

“He improved in the past six months and how he is playing [in training and games] gives me a lot of confidence and trust in him.

“He is a player with personality. You can find a lot of players with quality, but you have to show a strong personality. In football, you need players with personality and character.

“Players who are not afraid to make decisions. Anthony is one of these.

“He is ready to be with us and part of what we are doing.”

Everton

The 19-year-old has been superb since the lockdown, and to get that praise from a manager of Ancelotti’s class will give him even more confidence.

His assist against Leicester was his reward for a cracking start, but his all-round performance in that one was superb – making two key passes according to WhoScored.

Everton fans can surely expect to see a lot more of Gordon in the coming seasons, especially after this glowing praise.
