Recently-relegated side holding out for £30million offer from Everton – report
Marcel Brands appears to be here, there and everywhere recently with Everton looking to step up their transfer business.
The Toffees are yet to confirm any signings, with Leighton Baines and Marten Stekelenburg already leaving Goodison Park.
Carlo Ancelotti is currently going through his first transfer window in Merseyside and is looking for defensive and midfield additions before the September restart.
Midfield has been a massive area that Everton appear to be concentrating on. Both Allan of Napoli and Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure are still strong targets.
The Express have reported on their website that the Toffees are set to revisit their interest in Doucoure this summer.
The newspaper have reported on their website that despite being recently-relegated to the Championship, Watford will still demand £30million for the Frenchman.
Doucoure, 27, appears to be wanting the chance to return to the Premier League and under the illustrious eye of Ancelotti.
With that level of pricetag on Doucoure’s head, it appears unlikely that Everton will be able to bring in both him and Allan.
Ancelotti worked with the Brazilian during their time together at Napoli recently, and it would be no surprise to see them reunited at Goodison Park.
His stats from the Champions League this year prove how good of an addition he could be for the Toffees.
The 28-year-old averages almost four tackles per game according to WhoScored, and he would add much-needed strength to Everton’s spine – something they were missing last season and that Doucoure likely couldn’t offer.
