Medical soon: Everton agree £22.3m fee for midfielder, personal terms signed – journalist
Everton finally appear to have secured the signing of Napoli midfielder Allan.
Carlo Ancelotti worked with the Brazilian enforcer during his time at the Italian club and has persuaded him with Premier League football.
Another option was Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, and the Toffees could still yet bring the Frenchman in at Goodison Park alongside Allan.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Everton have agreed a £22.3million fee for the Brazilian midfielder after weeks of talks.
The Sky Sports Italy journalist shared on his personal Twitter account that Allan has also agreed personal terms with the Toffees.
It is suggested that the South American will now complete his medical before everything is signed off and Allan is officially unveiled as an Everton player this summer.
Romano also shared another update in the same tweet, claiming that talks are ongoing with James Rodriguez.
Everton have been short on holding midfielders for some time now.
Andre Gomes suffered that horror injury last season, and Gylfi Sigurdsson has even been dropped deeper by Ancelotti since he arrived.
The 29-year-old has great experience and has featured in Napoli’s side in many Champions League campaigns recently.
His stats in that competition last season prove he is a world-class holding midfielder and will add serious strength in the spine of the Toffees.
Allan completed almost four tackles per game according to WhoScored in Europe, and his presence will seriously improve Everton next season.
