Sky Sports: Everton could complete double deal in next 24 hours

Sky Sports have claimed that the transfers of both James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure to Everton could be finalised in the next 24 hours.

Both transfers have been going on behind the scenes for weeks at Goodison Park, but it seems that Toffees fans patience will soon be rewarded, as deals to sign the midfielders are almost confirmed.

Rodriguez, 29, will cost £22 million from Real Madrid, while Doucoure, 27, will cost £20 million and join from relegated Watford.

Ancelotti has clearly tried to improve his side’s midfield in this transfer window, with that area being the clear weak link in the team last season, especially after project restart.

Everton have spent big on these two experienced midfielders, who will add some attacking impetus but also some much-needed depth to Everton’s centre.

Toffees fans are sure to be more excited at the prospect of signing Galactico Rodriguez, who they will be hoping can recapture his best form under ex-manager Ancelotti.

Rodriguez will be the second player Everton have signed this summer who will link back up with the Italian, following the arrival of Brazilian midfielder Allan, 29, from Napoli.

This double signing may not be the end of Everton’s dealings in this transfer window. Sky Sports also claim that the Toffees are looking to sign a right-back and a winger, with Atletico Madrid winger Santiago Arias linked with a move to Goodison Park.

Sky Sports also expect plenty of outgoings on the blue half of Merseyside, with Theo Walcott and Fabian Delph linked with Leeds and Burnley respectively, and Gylfi Sigurdsson linked with a move to the MLS.

It is also expected that if Everton can sign a right-back, then Jonjoe Kenny will be allowed to leave the club on loan.
