Some Everton fans react to Calvert-Lewin performance in England win v Wales

Some Everton fans were heaping praise on Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the Toffees striker marked his England debut with a goal.

The Everton striker opened his England account against Wales on Thursday evening, scoring his side’s first of the night in a 3-0 win.

Calvert-Lewin cleverly lost his marker inside the box before heading home an excellent Jack Grealish cross. It was a trademark goal for the forward, with another headed goal to add to his growing collection.

Calvert-Lewin’s red hot form this season saw him rewarded with his first England call-up and Gareth Southgate threw him straight in at the start in the friendly at Wembley.

It took the Toffees forward just 26 minutes to break his international duct, with the header taking Calvert-Lewin’s total for the season to 10 goals in seven competitive appearances this season.

He played just under an hour before being substituted for Mason Mount, but it was job done for Calvert-Lewin and he can look back on his international debut with pride.

The Three Lions have games against Belgium and Denmark at Wembley during the rest of this international break. Following the Wales game, could we see Calvert-Lewin add to his international tally before he returns to Goodison Park?

Everton fans took to social media to praise their striker, with some saying they were ‘proud’ of their man.
