Bournemouth anticipate Everton interest in wantaway player – report
Bournemouth want Everton to make a bid for their Norweigan striker Joshua King after being left disappointed with West Ham’s £13 million bid according to a report.
The Sun are reporting that the Cherries are expecting interest in King from Everton ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
West Ham have had a £13 million bid turned down for King and the Cherries are reportedly ‘fuming’ with the Hammers for speaking to the striker without first agreeing a fee with the club.
The report says “The Cherries are also anticipating interest from Everton, who are keen to bolster their forward line” and added that King is “determined to leave” Bournemouth.
Now that Moise Kean has left Goodison Park for at least a season in a loan move to PSG, Everton could do with another striker to provide back-up for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. It seems that King is definitely a target for Carlo Ancelotti but there is work to do if the Toffees are to get this deal done by the closure of the domestic transfer window on October 16.
King has 48 Premier League goals to his name and would be a quality addition to a Toffees’ attack which already boasts quality players like James Rodriguez and Richarlison. He would probably be used in a back-up role, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has started the season in exceptional form, scoring nine goals in six Everton games.
Would King want to move to a team where he is not guaranteed game time? Or would he rather hold out and get a move to a side where he will be the main man? We shall see if Everton put a bid in for the Norway international this week and if King wants to move to the side who currently top the Premier League.
In other Everton news, Moise Kean has spoken out after leaving Goodison Park on loan.
