Everton interested in £40m-rated Bournemouth ace Brooks – report

Everton are one of five potential suitors looking at Bournemouth’s David Brooks ahead of Friday’s EFL transfer deadline according to the Daily Mail.

The Welsh attacker looks set to leave the Vitality Stadium and return to the Premier League after impressing clubs like Everton and Manchester United.

The Daily Mail add that Liverpool, Leicester and Tottenham are also interested in signing the 23-year-old before the domestic transfer window closes on Friday.

The report also says that ‘Bournemouth are determined to hold out for £40m for their prized asset’ and insist that they are in facing no pressure to sell Brooks, despite their relegation last season.

The Welsh international was limited to nine Premier League appearances last season, after missing the majority of the campaign with an ankle problem. On his return, he was unable to help the Cherries avoid relegation.

He has made four appearances for Bournemouth this season, two in the league and two in the Carabao Cup. He hasn’t registered a goal or an assist in those games but helped his side to a 1-1 draw away at Middlesbrough.

Brooks would be joining a stacked midfield if he did make the switch to Goodison Park. James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure have started the majority of the Toffees’ Premier League games, with Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson also making appearances off the bench.

But there is no denying Brooks has quality and the 23-year-old still has plenty of potential to develop into a Premier League star. With the transfer window closing on Friday, we could see some movement in this transfer deal very soon.
