Everton target Milik will be available in January – report
Everton target Arkadiusz Milik will be allowed to leave Napoli in January as the Italian side want a fee for their 26-year-old forward, according to Calciomercato.
Milik’s contract runs out in the summer and Napoli are keen to make sure they receive some sort of fee for their forward.
The Poland international has been left out of Napoli’s Champions League and Serie A squads after failing to impress Gennaro Gattuso.
Everton were linked with a move for Milik this summer and more recent reports have claimed that the Toffees will make a move for the Napoli man in January.
Ancelotti could pay a smaller fee to secure the services of his former player with Napoli not wanting to lose their man for free, or he could wait and offer Milik a pre-contract agreement.
This would mean Milik would be an Everton player but wouldn’t be able to play until next season, obviously, this is not an option if Ancelotti wants his man in January.
You could make the case that the Toffees don’t need another striker at the moment. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in stellar form this season and will surely remain Ancelotti’s number nine for the immediate future.
Everton also have Moise Kean returning next season with the Italian international currently on loan at French side PSG. Cenk Tosun also remains at Everton and was included in their Premier League squad but he remains injured and reports suggest he will be sold in the near future.
If Ancelotti wants to bolster his attacking options come January then Milik remains an option and we won’t have to wait that long to find out what the Toffees will do as the January transfer window is just weeks away.
In other Everton news, James Rodriguez will miss his side’s trip to Newcastle this weekend.
