Everton will not recall Kean from PSG – report
The Athletic are reporting that Moise Kean will not be recalled by Everton in January despite their worrying Premier League form.
The Italian has been in fine form since he joined the French champions on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window.
But, despite a lack of quality striker cover, David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Kean will be staying with PSG this season.
The Atheltic report that “the intention at Goodison Park is for the 20-year-old to complete the campaign in France to gain significant game time and positive exposure.”
The 20-year-old has five goals in seven games for last season’s Champions League runners up as he looks to have recaptured some of the form he had before moving to Goodison Park.
Kean could provide some decent backup, or even be a strike partner, to Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has lead the Toffees attack in every Premier League game this season.
The goals have dried up for Everton of late as they succumbed to a third successive league defeat this weekend at the hands of Manchester United.
The game against a hit-and-miss United team presented Carlo Ancelotti’s side with the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways after defeats to Newcastle and Southampton but once again they were poor and looked a shadow of the team that started the season so well.
The only noticeable absentee from the game against the Red Devils was Richarlison as James Rodriguez and Seamus Coleman returned from injury and Lucas Digne returned from suspension.
it was more or less Everton’s best team and they still turned in a sub-par performance. Perhaps Kean’s return in January could help to bring goals back to the side, at the very least he presents a better backup option to Cenk Tosun.
In other Everton news, Harry Maguire has admitted his side didn’t deserve a penalty at Goodison Park.
