View: Everton midfielder Allan turns in worst performance of the season v Leeds
Allan turned in a poor individual performance as his Everton side lost 1-0 to Leeds United on Saturday evening.
The Brazilian has been excellent since his summer move from Napoli but he disappointed as his new side couldn’t follow up last weekend’s win against Fulham with another three-point haul.
Allan was dominated in the midfield and was often second-best up against Kalvin Phillips who had an outstanding game for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The 29-year-old was off the pace and he won’t want to see his individual stats from Saturday’s game as they make for fairly grim reading.
According to Wyscout, Allan only won 30% of his defensive duels which is significantly lower than his season average of 54.3% of duels that he wins on average per game.
He also only won 33% of his loose ball duels while managing to win none of his attempted slide tackles against Leeds.
Allan also didn’t win a single aerial duel which shows how he was dominated in the air and on the ground by the Leeds midfield.
The Brazilian also committed three fouls and earned himself a yellow card as he struggled to stop the Leeds midfielders and attackers running at the Everton defence.
This might sound harsh but Allan looked out of his depth against a midfield that was, until recently, playing championship football.
On a more positive note, Allan made four interceptions and somehow managed to complete 100% of his nine attempted dribbles against Leeds which is incredibly impressive for a holding midfielder.
It was easily Allan’s worst outing in an Everton shirt and he needs to make sure he doesn’t repeat this performance.
Hopefully, Allan can find his feet through the week and turn in a much-improved performance against Burnley next weekend.
