‘Everything to turn this around’ – Allan positive about PL improvement

Everton midfielder Allan believes that this current Toffees side have it in them to climb back up the table after a tough run of results in recent weeks.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have lost four of their last five Premier League fixtures and sit eighth in the table despite winning their first four league matches of the season.

Their latest defeat came against Leeds United at home thanks to a second-half Raphinha goal, with the Toffees failing to create too much going the other way.

Speaking ahead of their trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, Allan said that the team have “everything to turn this around”.

“It is our dream and desire to go far this season but we know that in order to achieve this, we need to be playing great right now,” he told Everton’s official website.

“We’ve been working hard on this, recent results haven’t been positive but with peace of mind from the work we’ve been doing during the week, we have everything to turn this around; to get some wins and move higher up the league.

“Carlo is someone who knows how to treat players on a day-to-day basis, which is crucial, because he manages to get 100 per cent out of the players.”

Everton have a number of quality players but a mixture of key injuries and suspensions and defensive issues have let them down in recent matches.

From 10 Premier League matches they have conceded 17 goals, the third-worst record in the division, while Ancelotti is yet to decide on their best defensive personnel. He has moved from a back four to a back three and with key injuries, he could switch again ahead of Saturday.

Lucas Digne is the biggest miss right now but the loss of Seamus Coleman was also costly, while they lost all three matches during Richarlison’s suspension.

Premier Injuries give Coleman a 25% chance of being fit to face Burnley, but Digne has been ruled out alongside long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
