‘Better than Kane’ – Plenty of Everton fans hail star player at half-time v Burnley

Plenty of Everton fans have praised Toffees striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin after he scored against Burnley to make it 1-1 before half-time.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side endured a difficult first half and went down 1-0 after just three minutes, with Robbie Brady scoring for Sean Dyche’s side.

They created just three shots on target throughout the entire half, but in stoppage time Calvert-Lewin got them back on level terms, finishing from close range after an inch-perfect cross from Richarlison.

Despite his side’s struggles, the England international was a constant threat and took three shots in the first 45 minutes, while completing 82% of his passes (via WhoScored).

The Toffees have won four of their last five Premier League matches and sit eighth in the table, despite having sat at the top after five matches.

In response to the goal, one fan said that the 23-year-old was a better player than England captain Harry Kane, while another said his goal had saved Everton from embarrassment.

The second half represents a good chance for Ancelotti’s side to go on and get the win against a Burnley side with the second-worst defensive record in the division. Prior to the start of this match, they had conceded 17 goals from just nine matches (via WhoScored).

Here are some of the best reactions to the goal from Everton fans on Twitter.
