‘That’s the worry’ – Exclusive: Kevin Campbell predicts result of Everton v Arsenal
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell is tipping Everton to beat Arsenal when the two sides face off at Goodison Park this weekend.
Arsenal failed to win again on Wednesday night as they drew at home to Southampton with Toffees loanee Theo Walcott scoring for the Saints.
The former Toffees captain believes that Arsenal’s senior players are letting the side down and he thinks his former side will pick up all three points against the Gunners.
Speaking to Goodison News, Campbell said, “The way Arsenal are playing, I fancy Everton to be honest. Arsenal are in a really precarious position, a difficult position for the club.
“The senior players aren’t doing it and that’s the worry. Usually, when things aren’t going well you can rely on your senior players, right now the senior players just aren’t turning up to the party.
“Obviously, there are the midweek games and Arsenal have got a wretched game against Southampton and they will be coming to take a scalp. Now a lot is going to depend on what happens there. Truthfully I fancy Everton.”
A win against Arsenal would provide another boost to Ancelotti’s side after picking up a much-needed win against Chelsea last weekend.
The Gunners aren’t the force that many expected them to be under new boss Mikel Arteta and questions have started to be asked regarding his job after his side’s awful run of form.
The Toffees cannot see this weekend’s game as an easy win however as Arsenal still have quality players who can change a game if they turn up.
Everton have quality players of their own and they will hopefully welcome back James Rodriguez as they look to claim yet another Premier League win after registering back to back victories against Chelsea and Leicester.
The game at Goodison Park has the potential to be a classic and Toffees fans would love to claim a win over the London club.
In other Everton news, Danny Murphy believes that the Toffees should make a move for Dele Alli.
