Everton ready to make move for Max Aarons in January – report
Everton are eyeing Norwich City defender Max Aarons as a long term replacement for Seamus Coleman and could move for him next month, according to TEAMtalk.
Aarons was highly sought after in the summer as the 20-year-old attracted interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that the Toffees are one of Aarons’ main admirers with the club ready to make a move in January.
TEAMtalk also believe that any deal for Aarons would have to involve a loan back to Norwich for the remainder of the season as the Canaries look for an immediate top-flight return.
The report states that Norwich are open to letting Aarons leave but seemingly only on their terms.
Manchester United also hold interest in the young full-back so a potential Everton bid may be rivalled by the Red Devils.
Aarons looked nailed on to move in the summer after impressing in the Premier League despite Norwich’s relegation.
Fellow Norwich defenders Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey secured Premier League moves to Newcastle and of course Everton in the summer but despite plenty of interest, Aarons has been playing Championship football this season.
He’s carried on impressing as well, playing every single minute of his side’s league season so far.
The 20-year-old has helped his side to six Championship clean sheets this season as well as chipping in with one goal and three assists.
There is no doubting Aarons’ quality as it only looks like a matter of time before he returns to the top flight.
Coleman has impressed this season but the 32-year-old isn’t getting any younger and his injury problems are continuing to be an issue.
Securing a long-term replacement for Coleman could be tricky but Aarons looks to be an excellent candidate.
Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks.
