Romano claims Everton want €10m for Bernard

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Everton will demand €10million for Bernard following links to Italian side Roma.

Bernard is available to any clubs willing to meet this asking price despite the Brazilian featuring for the Blues in recent weeks.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Romano stated that there is ‘nothing advanced’ between Everton and Roma but hinted that Bernard’s departure could pave the way for new signings.

He said, “Everton are still waiting because if they sell Bernard anything can happen with new signings.

“At the moment nothing is advanced with Roma, he is one of the options, but not the first one and Roma are still waiting to make a bid.

“What I want to add is the price of Bernard, they want €10million to sell Bernard, so let’s see in the coming weeks if someone will arrive with this kind of bid or with an obligation to buy.”

Everton

Bernard started against West Ham just a few weeks ago and he came closest to scoring for the Blues in the narrow 1-0 loss.

It seems as though his recent performances haven’t changed the plan around the 28-year-old with Everton still seemingly keen on moving him on.

It would make sense that we would target a replacement if Bernard is moved on though Carlo Ancelotti isn’t hard done by with the number of wingers available to him.

We would like to see Anthony Gordon given more game time and Bernard’s sale could facilitate more first-team action for the young winger.

He performed well against Sheffield United over the festive period and he needs first-team football if he is to develop.

Promoting Gordon would be a logical move to make in the event that Bernard is sold and we hope that this is the club’s plan.
