‘He has the lot’ – Some Everton fans react as Branthwaite makes Blackburn debut
A number of Everton supporters were delighted to learn that Jarrad Branthwaite starred in his Blackburn Rovers debut on Saturday.
The promising young defender made the switch to the Championship side earlier in the January window and made his debut against Stoke City.
Unfortunately for Blackburn, the game ended 1-1, but the Blues loanee left a lasting impression on some of their supporters.
Branthwaite came through the ranks at Carlisle United but made the move to Goodison Park in January 2020 after previously impressing in the Football League.
The young defender made four first-team appearances in the Premier League last season, but Carlo Ancelotti and the club opted to send him elsewhere for the second half of the campaign to pursue regular minutes at a competitive level.
As per WhoScored, Branthwaite won 100 per cent of his tackles against Stoke and also boasted a respectable 84 per cent pass success rate.
The young Everton man was also only dispossessed just once and won 100 per cent of his aerial duels as well.
It is a promising start for supporters, who will no doubt be watching Blackburn with interest during the coming weeks and months.
With Ben Godfrey also impressing in the first-team squad, the Blues can feel hopeful about a very bright future at the back.
Following a tweet from Blackburn Rovers fan @brfcluke, who claimed he had already fallen in love with the defender, these Everton fans responded online to show their support for the 18-year-old.
