Confirmed: Allan set for training return in 7-10 days after Everton injury blow

Everton midfielder Allan is set to return to training in seven days after being ruled out through injury for the past month.

The Brazilian has been missing since the 2-0 victory against Leicester after he was forced off with a hamstring problem.

It was confirmed that the midfielder is expected to return for the Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Everton confirmed the boost on their official Twitter account after Carlo Ancelotti shared injury updates on Friday morning.

“Allan update: due back in training in 7-10 days,” they wrote.

“Expected to be available for our game against Manchester United on 8 February.”

It could have been much worst, with fears growing when the stretcher was used at the King Power Stadium when he was taken off.

The FA Cup has come at the perfect time.

With the Toffees still having games in hand, Allan could have missed plenty more Premier League games, but the cup competition has delivered two fixtures this month alone.

This timescale still means that Allan will miss three Premier League games though – Leicester, Newcastle and Leeds.

Ancelotti will be wanting Allan back sooner rather than later.

No player who has featured more than once for Everton has averaged more tackles than Allan according to WhoScored, with much-needed steel set to return.

This could have been much worst, and fans will be erupting around Goodison Park as they prepare to welcome back their star player.
