Everton keeping tabs on Aston Villa starlet Tyreik Wright – report
Everton are keeping an eye on 19-year-old Aston Villa winger Tyreik Wright after impressing while on loan at Walsall, according to The Daily Mail.
Wright is a left-footed right-winger and is currently getting his first taste of first-team football after being sent on loan to Walsall during the January transfer window.
He has impressed right out of the gate after picking up two assists in his first two outings in the fourth tier.
The Daily Mail claim that the Blues and Celtic are just two of many clubs interested in signing the Villa starlet.
Wright’s deal at Villa Park expires at the end of the season and this has some clubs sniffing around as a cut-price deal for the talented 19-year-old could be on the cards.
He has been at Villa since 2018 as he joined the Birmingham outfit from Irish side Lakewood with his stock only rising since.
It is unknown if Wright will sign a new deal with his current club or if he will look for pastures new with top clubs like Everton interested in his services.
His performances in the second half of the season could have a huge bearing on his future as if he continues to impress then more clubs will start to circle.
Us and Celtic are the only clubs named as interested in Wright and there are some others according to the report but the project at Goodison Park may be too impressive to turn down.
Especially when Celtic are in freefall as a club at the moment as they are miles behind Rangers in the league and sure for a huge shake-up in the summer.
Carlo Ancelotti is one of the best managers in the world and if he wants Wright then one conversation is all it may take.
It worked for James Rodriguez and Allan, so it could work for Wright.
