‘Excellent signing’ – Exclusive: Campbell wants to see Everton sign Zaha
Kevin Campbell believes that Wilfried Zaha would be an excellent signing for Everton amid news that he wants to play European football.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson told The Mail that Zaha wants to play Champions League football with Everton firmly fighting for a top-four finish this season.
Campbell believes that Zaha would certainly add something to Carlo Ancelotti’s side but noted that the Blues would have plenty of competition for his signature.
Speaking to Goodison News, Campbell said, “He’d be an excellent signing.
“I think Everton will have a lot of competition to get his signature. Zaha would add something massively to Everton.
“When you think of a front three of Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Zaha, wow. That’s going to take some stopping.
“Add a midfield of Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez, now that’s a squad.”
The promise of Champions League football is a huge lure for talented players and if Everton can snag a top-four finish this season then they will carry that advantage into the summer transfer window.
With European football comes more fixtures so the Blues would have to add more depth to their squad and we’d love to see the club target Zaha.
He flopped at Manchester United but he has matured since then and he may be ready to take that step up from Crystal Palace.
He is a player who is too talented to be playing for a side so close to the relegation zone and if we came knocking he would surely find us hard to turn down.
First things first we need to finish in the top four, then we can start dreaming about potential signings.
