Sky Sports’ Lewis Jones predicts Everton v Fulham

Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones predicts that Everton and Fulham will share the points in the Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

He expects it to be a low scoring game when the two sides meet at Goodison. The visitors are the lowest scorers in the league, whilst the Toffees are without topscorer Calvert-Lewin.

Writing in his predictions column on Sky Sports he said, “Everton – in the Premier League – have had problems scoring goals at Goodison Park without fans.

“They can be easily stifled if an opposition team are well-organised and clever with the ball – as shown in the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle.

“With no Calvert-Lewin to call upon here either, big chances surely will be hard to come by – as they will for Fulham too. They are the third-lowest scores in the division with just 17 goals scored in their 22 games and haven’t scored in four of their last five matches.”

Jones has predicted the scoreline to read 0-0 at full time later today.

Everton

A dull encounter?

We can see the logic behind this. However, you only have to look at Everton’s last two games to argue the case.

The Toffees have scored eight and conceded seven in their last two matches combined. Yes, Calvert-Lewin will be a big miss. After all, he’s scored 13 of Everton’s 34 league goals in 2020/21.

He’s only found the net twice in those games. It’s hard to imagine a side scoring so freely and full of confidence will go and fire a blank.

Fulham have drawn nine times in the league so far. This includes three of their last five fixtures. It must be so frustrating for Scott Parker. His side are playing good football but have no end product between them.

Surely it’s only a matter of time before they actually win a game? They haven’t won in the league since November 30th at the King Power Stadium to Leicester. The visitors will be desperate to win, and their main man, Ademola Lookman, will be hungry to prove a point.
