‘Not nervous at all’ – Exclusive: Campbell predicts Everton v Man City FA Cup clash
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell isn’t nervous ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final between Everton and Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The Blues welcome the Citizens to Goodison Park for the second time this season on Saturday looking to improve on the 3-1 loss they sustained last time the sides met.
With a place in the FA Cup semi-finals at stake, Campbell is surprisingly calm ahead of the game but he is predicting a win for Pep Guardiola’s side.
“No, I’m not nervous at all. There’s nothing to be nervous about,” Campbell exclusively told Goodison News.
“It always depends on which Everton turn up. That’s the key. If the right Everton turns up then they have a chance.
“If the wrong Everton turns up then there’s going to be problems. I’m going to go, 3-2 Manchester City.”
City have been relentless this season and there is a very real chance they will win the fabled ‘quadruple’ of the Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League.
We face an almighty task if we are to take anything from the league leaders and that challenge will be even harder without Jordan Pickford available.
Our number one will miss Saturday’s game and England’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers with it currently unknown when he may return.
Our outfield players will have to play a blinder if we are to progress to the semi-finals but if we play to our strengths then a win isn’t impossible.
A win would also make us one of the favourites for the competition as we would’ve knocked out the side who many expect to win the cup.
We do think that Campbell not being nervous but predicting a 3-2 defeat sums up the feelings of our fan base right now.
Man City look unstoppable but as Manchester United found out recently, they aren’t unbeatable and we need to remember that.
