Everton must move for Sasa Kalajdzic as he could be a game-changer for Ancelotti
Everton are reportedly scouting Stuttgart star Sasa Kalajdzic but Marcel Brands must make a concrete offer for the striker as soon as he can.
It is a matter of urgency as Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle are all rumoured to be keen on the attacker [Fabrizio Romano, Give Me Sport].
We would hate to lose out on a good source of goals, particularly to a rival, and the Toffees certainly need a new attacker in the summer.
Moise Kean’s future is up in the air with Juventus apparently interested in a swap deal for Adrien Rabiot [Gazzetta Dello Sport].
We have Joshua King and Richarlison capable of playing the central striker role but we feel Kalajdzic is the game-changer Carlo Ancelotti currently lacks.
Standing at 6ft 5in he would provide aerial prowess – on average he has been involved with 7.2 aerial duels per game [WyScout].
That is some effort and suggests he could pose a similar threat to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
That is a big reason why we should sign him.
When Calvert-Lewin was absent in February we lost both of the games he missed – we lacked his physical presence up-front and that is something Kalajdzic could provide in his place.
The Austria international would also be a great option from the bench as Ancelotti could maintain our aerial threat even if he takes off Calvert-Lewin.
The thought of Kalajdzic and Calvert-Lewin on the same pitch would also be a nightmare for Premier League defences – Lucas Digne and James Rodriguez would surely get a lot of joy from crosses.
Kalajdzic knows where the goal is too, and Austria boss Franco Foda has praised that forward’s anticipation [LAOLA1].
He has 13 goals in 15 Bundesliga starts for Stuttgart this season, with four assists in that time.
The likes of Richarlison and Rodriguez could benefit from his knockdowns and general hold-up play, therefore.
Also, Kalajdzic is only 23 so has plenty of years to develop into an all-round striker and learning from the experienced Ancelotti could prove valuable for him.
There is a lot to like about the young striker and he could prove an astute buy if he arrives at Goodison this summer.
In other Everton news, the club may land the next Richarlison after making contact for £8.5m-rated star.
