View: Three things to watch for in Everton clash v Crystal Palace

Everton return to Premier League action on Monday when they are set to host Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

The Toffees found themselves on the bad end of a three-game losing streak heading into the international break, while Palace had taken four points in March from games against West Brom, Tottenham and Manchester United.

With European places still to play for this season, Everton have ten ‘cup finals’ to play as they look to close the gap on the top four. The Eagles meanwhile are all but safe from relegation and will be looking to move as far up the table as possible before the season’s end.

Ahead of Everton’s return to Goodison Park, we at Goodison News have picked out three things that fans should watch out for in this upcoming encounter.

Continued run of form

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was on target during the international break, and though the goal only came against lowly ranked San Marino, he nonetheless found the back of the net.

Prior to the international break Calvert-Lewin had suffered a minor goal drought that he put right in Everton’s 2-1 loss to Burnley. After keeping the momentum flowing for the Three Lions, hopefully we can see him find the target once more against Roy Hodgson’s men.

Everton

Goalkeeper return

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed two weeks ago that Robin Olsen had returned to training, so the shot-stopper could be in line for a return to Everton’s starting line-up.

Jordan Pickford is still out and though Joao Virginia performed admirably against Manchester City, the Blues are much safer with the Swede back in net.

Defensive shuffle?

Ancelotti has constantly experimented with his centre-back options this season, so it will once again be interesting to see who he picks to face the Eagles.

Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey will all be vying for a spot, while Seamus Coleman’s return could prevent one of them from playing right-back.

Each defender has been rested at some point this season so it really is difficult to predict who Ancelotti will leave on the sidelines.

In other Everton news, Everton reportedly make move for 20y/o forward available for £8.5m.
