Juventus want to resign Moise Kean, Everton only tempted by Merih Demiral swap – report
Juventus are interested in resigning Moise Kean from Everton in the upcoming summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian outlet have reported that Paris Saint-Germain are also in the race to turn his loan switch permanent, and that is Kean’s preferred destination.
There have been consistent stories linking the Toffees with moves for Juventus duo Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, although they aren’t attractive options.
Interestingly, there is one player from the European giants that does attract Carlo Ancelotti to a potential swap deal, and that is Merih Demiral.
The Turkish defender signed a five-year deal with the Serie A champions in 2019 and has only just broken his way into the side under Andrea Pirlo.
Demiral has only started 10 games in the Serie A this season and hasn’t proved that he could consistently perform in the Premier League.
One thing he has in his favour though, is age, with Ramsey now the wrong end of 30-years-old; something that must be taken into account when considering these swap deals.
Unnecessary?
Demiral was reportedly high on the wishlist at Goodison Park back in January 2020, and this move would have made a lot more sense back then.
The arrival of Ben Godfrey has made this a different ball game, and someone such as Yerry Mina may have to leave Merseyside for this to make sense.
Should Kean be allowed to leave for another defender to come in, it will be critical that we make a new striker the priority over the summer.
Kean could come back a different animal should he decide to stay in Merseyside after this latest loan move, although we find that highly unlikely.
