Fabrizio Romano: Everton will not accept less than £43m for Moise Kean

Everton are keen to sell Moise Kean in the summer and are negotiating a price with PSG, according to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano.

He reports the Toffees have started negotiations at €50million [£43million], and is certain that the French champions are in the driving seat.

In fact, Romano states that Italian clubs will only make a move for Kean if PSG fail to agree a fee with Everton.

Everton signed Kean for £25million [BBC] in 2019, so are looking to make a profit on the 21-year-old, who has scored just two goals in 29 league games at Goodison Park.

Time to cash in

Kean arrived with a lot of excitement but for whatever reason he failed to find a home in the Premier League.

He scored goals at Juventus and was described by former teammate Abdoulaye Bamba as a “phenomenon” who “walked on water” [Le Parisien].

Kean clearly possesses a lot of talent but he does not suit us, unfortunately.

Everton

It would be quite remarkable if we managed to profit off the Italian, particularly as the mooted price is not far off double what we paid – especially when his loan fee this season is taken into account.

We are lucky to get such good business – if the move happens – and therefore Marcelo Brands should do everything he can to finalise the deal.

The money we get for the youngster can be put towards a suitable Premier League striker.

A winger could even be added instead, as Richarlison has proved he is a useful option when playing centrally in recent weeks.

It is important the club learns from it’s mistakes.

Kean never settled, perhaps due to his age and the fact he was moving to a foreign country – future targets must be assessed for how they will cope with the challenges of being an Everton player on and off the pitch.
