View: Three wingers Everton could sign this summer

Everton have recognised their need to sign a winger this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo, with the Blues also eyeing a right-back.

Marcel Brands mentioned at an AGM last year that the Toffees were pursuing a winger ahead of the summer transfer window, though they were ultimately unable to bring one to Goodison Park.

Now the Liverpool Echo have reaffirmed the position as one the club consider a key area to reinforce once the season has ended, with their report explaining Everton would prefer a left-footed player in the age range of 20-25/26.

At Goodison News we’ve looked at a handful of players who Everton could potentially consider once the summer transfer window opens.

Everton Soares

Before versatile Brazilian forward Everton Soares signed for Benfica in the summer, the Toffees were said to be especially keen on bringing him to Goodison Park.

Able to play on either flank or through the middle, Soares fits the bill regarding what Brands and Carlo Ancelotti are looking for this summer.

Though talk of Everton’s interest in their namesake has gone cold, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising to see it reignite once more as the Blues chase options following the season’s end.

Leon Bailey

Bayer Leverkusen star Bailey was the subject of Everton’s scouting interest last December according to Mail Online, and with the winger said to be keen on a Premier League switch, Ancelotti could consider him a prime target.

Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United were all also named in the same report, though it remains to be seen how much interest any of the four clubs still have.

If the Blues want someone young, energetic and full of pace, Bailey could be their man.

Federico Bernardeschi

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently named Bernardeschi as one of four players Juventus could potentially use as a makeweight in order to sign Moise Kean on a permanent basis this summer.

Juve cannot meet Everton’s financial demands and so would prefer to offer a player-plus-cash deal in order to tempt Ancelotti’s side.

Though Everton haven’t been explicitly linked with a buying interest in Bernardeschi, Juventus’ willingness to give him could tempt the Blues into making a move for the talented wide man.
